Jenny Brandis' Handcrafts

I have finally got up the courage to try lacemaking again. The vision is still off but new glasses are on order, the Saturday Markets in Kununurra have started and I just could not wait any longer.

I have started a new length with the same pattern as last year (Zigzag pattern by Jo Edkins) as it has proven to be a perfect pattern for demonstrating - quick little elements that show off cloth stitch, half stitch, spider, cloth st with twist fans, torchon ground and footside.

The first effort was just 3 months after I began learning lace making and I did not record the thread I used. Last year it was in finca 40 lemon and this year it is in Finca 40 black. I think I will vary it as I go and add colour or variation every 30 cm or so - will be interesting to see how it goes over the next few months and I will try to keep you posted.

So, what do you think?
