How to make a Stitch marker or three

Knitted lace means repeats of a pattern over rows and to keep track (and prevent having to unpick too far) I use stitch markers as the beginning of each repeat.

The piece I am currently working on uses 18 stitches in each pattern repeat so as I add the stitch marker, I quickly add the stitches up since the last marker - 18? good keep going.

Originally I used all sorts of things as my stitch markers from a 6 inch length of thread hung between stitches to a paperclip hung over the needle. The thread often frayed and the paperclip caught the yarn so I moved on to seeking a solution in my craft room.

Here a few ideas and the instructions on making the ANGEL
