I have been challenging myself to become more comfortable designing my own lace patterns so for the exchange this year I made three ornaments each with a different design. I based them all around an eight pointed star, two drawn using compass and straight edge geometry, and the third on graph paper. In making the lace I loosely followed beds tecniques for trails and plaits. Each is made with white DMC special #80 and with Lizbeth #80 in variegated Christmas colours as workers in two of the ornaments
